Receptionist:

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Use of Cornerstone practice management system
  • Operate telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
  •  Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to exam rooms with pets.
  • Monitor and respond to emails, maintain and update appointment calendars.
  • Hear and resolve complaints from customers.
  • File and maintain records of patients.
  • At times may be required to fill the role of Veterinary Assistant.

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour

Kennel technician/Veterinary assistant:

Requirements &Responsibilities:

  • Handling and restraining patients for exams and procedures
  • Assist in the taking of x-rays
  • Fecal parasite sample collection and preparation
  • Use of Idexx in-house laboratory equipment
  • Use of Cornerstone practice management system
  • Preparation of a prescription drug, other than a controlled substance, for dispensing
  • Monitor and collect urine and fecal samples as needed
  • Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized/boarded patients
  • Care of hospitalized/boarded patients as needed
  • Bathe, walk, water, and feed patients in the hospital
  • Maintain cleanliness of kennels and runs for patients
  • assist in stocking of supplies throughout hospital
  • Responsible for routine cleaning/maintenance of hospital

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Veterinary Technician:

Veterinary Technicians are expected to be able to perform the following:

  • Collecting diagnostic samples including blood
  • Use a microscope for description of various samples
  • Catheter placement
  • Administration of medication by mouth, IM, IV and SQ
  • Monitor anesthesia and place endotracheal tubes
  • Perform dental cleanings

Associate Veterinarian:

Coral Gables Animal Hospital is a well established small animal general practice. We are looking for an experienced Veterinarian to join our passionate team. As a veterinarian you’ll act as the point of contact for pet owners, whether it’s to treat illnesses and injuries or to advise on animal nutrition and general care.Your day-to-day as a Vet includes conducting routine examination, diagnosing, prescribing medicine, performing surgeries, treating wounds, and managing medical records for our patients. Responsibilities:

  • Examine animals and check their health status
  • Diagnose illnesses and determine the best treatment
  • Dress wounds of injured animals
  • Perform dental, ophthalmic and orthopedic exams
  • Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases
  • Perform routine surgeries such as spays and neuters as needed
  • Prescribe medication
  • Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care
  • Collect body tissue, feces, blood, urine, or other body fluids for examination and analysis
  • Counsel clients about the deaths or euthanasia decisions of their pets
  • Manage client and patient records

Skills:

  • Work experience as a Veterinarian
  • Experience and proficiency in conducting various types of surgeries, vaccinations and health checks on animals
  • Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g. X-ray machines) and anesthesia procedures
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language
  • Availability to work weekend shifts
  • Patience and a love for animals
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalence
